Does the venue have everything you need?
Here's what comes with the building. Don't see something? Just ask.

A 100-seat Auditorium
The heart of the building: warm, comfortable and set up before anyone arrives. Toilets are just outside the doors, and tea and coffee are in the foyer all day, so nobody goes without.

Auditorium AV
A professional sound system for the serious stuff. It plays music and has microphones for up to six people at once, so panels, awards and launches sound as good as they look. A technician (£) runs it on the day.

Six breakout rooms
Day to day we're a meeting and training venue, so every room is already equipped. Solicitors, care companies and charities use them every week, and your sessions can run side by side.

50 free parking spaces
Free parking right outside, which you rarely find at our prices: usually only big city conference centres have their own. There's an overflow car park across the road for bigger events.

AV in every space
Every room has a screen or projector, cables, a flipchart and paper, with tea and coffee close by, so parallel sessions run without a hitch.

How does Maggie's compare with a hall or a hotel?
A community hall leaves the work to you. A hotel fits room hire around its bedrooms. Maggie's is a hosted venue: rooms are the whole job.
| Community hall | Maggie's | Hotel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who looks after you | A key in a lockbox, or a caretaker | On-site hosts, all day | Reception, busy with check-ins |
| Room set-up | You move the tables | Set to your layout before you arrive | Set up, often by agency staff |
| Tech | Bring your own projector | Screens with Mac and PC wireless casting, HDMI cables and 1Gb fibre WiFi, all tested | Available, often charged extra |
| Tea and coffee | Bring your own | In the room, all day, included | Timed breaks, charged per delegate |
| Parking | Street parking, if you are lucky | Free 50-space car park outside, M57 30 seconds away | Paid, or limited |
| Feel | Tired, sometimes damp | Calm, spotless and beautifully designed, with oil diffusers filling the air with a lovely scent | Corporate and anonymous |
| Built for | Everything at once | Training and meetings. It is the whole job. | Bedrooms. Room hire is a sideline. |
| Price | Cheap, you do the work | Honest day rates, everything included | Premium, to cover the hotel |
| Where the money goes | Building upkeep | Maggie's Meals and Knowsley community support | Shareholders |

Event venue questions
Is there enough parking on site?
Yes. There's a free 50-space car park right outside, which is rare at our prices: usually only big city conference centres have their own. For larger events there's an overflow car park across the main road, and a parking attendant will point your guests to it.
What are your opening hours for events?
We're open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. We're flexible about early set-up and late clearing away, and evening and weekend events are available on request. Tell us your timings and we'll do our best to fit them.
Can we bring our own catering?
We mainly work with our catering partner, Superior Catering, so the food and service are consistent. If you have a special request, talk to us first: other arrangements can sometimes be made with our approval.
Is catering available on site?
Yes. Tea and coffee are included all day, in or near every space you book. For food, Superior Catering can put together a menu for your event, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. You order from them and pay them directly, and we'll put you in touch when you book.
What AV equipment is in the Auditorium?
The Auditorium has a stage, a lectern, microphones, a projector, a sound system and lighting. A technician sets up and runs the AV on the day; this is charged, and needed for every Auditorium booking. Tell us what your speakers need and we'll have it ready before you arrive.
What is your cancellation policy?
Events count as larger bookings. Larger bookings are fully chargeable once booked. If you cancel, the full cost is payable. The same applies if you reduce the number of rooms, days or hours. You can move a larger booking once, as long as you tell us at least 2 weeks before the original date. The new date needs to be within 6 months. What you've paid moves with you. If the new date costs more, you pay the difference. If it costs less, the original price stands. Changes after that, or with less than 2 weeks' notice, count as a cancellation. We understand plans change. If something genuinely unexpected happens, talk to us. We'll look at exceptional circumstances case by case.
Do you need a deposit, and what are the payment terms?
Yes. 25% deposit to secure your dates. We'll invoice you when you book. Please pay within 5 business days, or we may release the dates. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is invoiced 2 weeks before your first booking date. Booking less than 2 weeks ahead? We'll invoice the full amount when you book. You can pay by bank transfer (details on your invoice) or by card over the phone. PO numbers are welcome, but we still need the deposit to secure your dates.
What is included in the room hire?
Your event talked through beforehand, the rooms set to your layout, hosts checking on you all day, tea and coffee in or near every space, a screen or projector with cables and a flipchart in every breakout room, 1Gb fibre WiFi and free parking. The Auditorium technician and food are extra.
